The stray that followed her home

Yesterday we also had an interesting experience. Our oldest daughter had a boy at school and been hitting on her for the last few days, who basically hung around waiting for her after school and weaseled himself a ride over to our house, where he ended up staying for like two or three hours. That didn't go over too well with my wife because basically the kid was kind of rude, obnoxious and swore all over the place in front of the younger kids AND couldn't manage to keep his hands to himself even though my wife was IN THE ROOM. According to my daughter, sitting next to him on the couch was a lot like the fight scenes between Neo and the Agent in the Matrix. His nickname now is the OCTOPUS. Anyway, we finally got rid of him and had a nice chat with number one daughter about what kind of boy she is supposed to date and what kind of boy she shouldn't. Octopus definitely fit in the second category. Hopefully we won't be seeing him around here again anytime soon (although she still hasn't given him back the earrings he gave her. Still working on that.)

Father Daughter Dance

Tonight was the big father daughter dance with elementary school. I took daughter number three and number four with me to go enjoy a nice 80's dance. They didn't think very much of the 80's music (Dad, it's so old and boring!) and even less of 80's fashions (Yuck, too much neon) but they did enjoy the food and have a lot of fun hanging out with their friends and running around. We managed to take a pretty nice picture in the photo booth they had to remember the evening. There were a lot of dads dressed 80's style with wigs, zebra style pants and rapper outfits. Sometimes it felt like I was in a flashback of "Hot Tub Time Machine"...

High School Valentine's Day Drama

Interesting day at the high school today it was Valentine's Day one daughter got a Valentines gift from her boyfriend while the oldest (a Junior) got a Valentines gift from a freshman boy who's a friend of daughter number two. Interesting. We always figured the boy had a crush on daughter number two, who is also a freshman, but apparently he likes the older daughter. This should really add to the drama around here. Nothing but fun in our house!
