His nickname now is the OCTOPUS. Anyway, we finally got rid of him and had a nice chat with number one daughter about what kind of boy she is supposed to date and what kind of boy she shouldn't. Octopus definitely fit in the second category. Hopefully we won't be seeing him around here again anytime soon (although she still hasn't given him back the earrings he gave her. Still working on that.)
When I got married and the first daughter (of FOUR!!!) was born, I realized I would soon be completely alone in an alien world with strange creatures that love tea parties, play with dolls and dream of being princesses. Where you sort the laundry into THREE piles: Lights, Darks and PINKS!!!

The stray that followed her home
Yesterday we also had an interesting experience. Our oldest daughter had a boy at school and been hitting on her for the last few days, who basically hung around waiting for her after school and weaseled himself a ride over to our house, where he ended up staying for like two or three hours. That didn't go over too well with my wife because basically the kid was kind of rude, obnoxious and swore all over the place in front of the younger kids AND couldn't manage to keep his hands to himself even though my wife was IN THE ROOM. According to my daughter, sitting next to him on the couch was a lot like the fight scenes between Neo and the Agent in the Matrix.
